Winter has pretty much arrive here on the Land, and we are hard at work getting the few final touches completed before winter sets in to stay. There is so much work to be done, setting up the new ranch, it sure keeps us busy! Here we have a load of straw being delivered, so the animals will be nice and warm and dry for the winter.
This blog began to share my adventures as I cycle, paddle, and ski across Canada, to raise awareness of Alpha 1 Anti-trypsin Deficiency. Because of a decline in health, I have just decided to blog a few things here and there about life in general, from this Alpha's point of view.

Harvest Festival - Day 8
This is the last day of this year's Great Harvest Festival/Camp-out. It was a great ceremony this morning, with happy faces and shouts of glory to the Great Manitou. I think my voice is almost raw.
Thank-you to all who came. We had a great time, and look forward to many more people joining us next year!

Introduction
I have decided to start a YouTube channel, to see how video blogging will work.
Please take a look, and tell me what you think.

Autumn Colours
The leaves are starting to change colour to the north-west of the Sacred Circle.
The other morning, after just finishing the opening prayer, I opened my eyes to see a deer standing in the Sacred Circle, in the North, looking back at me. It hopped out to the north, and stood looking back at me while I entered the Circle, and went about the rest of the opening ceremony, leaving part way through.

Many Years
It has been just over 8 years since I have written on this Blog, and much has happened in that time. I stayed in the Creston area for most of that time, and fulfilled part of a childhood dream of mine, that of becoming a Fireman. I worked at the Canyon-Lister Fire Department, and enjoyed every minute of it. I worked hard at staying in as good shape as I could, but it was not to last. Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency (Liver and Lung affected) is a severe limiter. So, I have now moved out to a ranch, where I can move at my own pace and have a peaceful end. It is a great blessing, to have a quiet place, where I can return to a simpler life, and spend my remaining years in the service of my family and fellow man.
Much of the time I struggle with the energy and ability to function, including the severe lack of protein to the brain, affecting my cognitive abilities. Yet, I am grateful to share my remaining years and knowledge with the readers of this Blog!
May God bless you!
